Jelly Tot

For Dolly Dolly Dave, the only Apiarist I know.

  1. They had a hive in one of my BIO classes at school with a glass section so you could watch the bees. The prof even demoed for us by allowing one hand to get stung by a bee and then putting it in a jar with a couple of other bees to let us watch the bees attack the very spot that was stung. He was a creepy guy, but what a fascinating species.

  2. I remember this episode! I recall Timothy West getting more agitated and annoyed with his wife towards the end as he turned, all twitches and buzzing. Great stuff.

  3. Sort my memory out for me: there wasn't any attempt to make the baby look bee-like or grub-esque right at the end, was there? Nothing between your 2nd-to-last pic and the video zoom out bit?

  4. Bollops, no grub like baby, just the zoomy zoom effect. Mark, that description is freaking me out. Dr. C, West gives the best man / bee hybrid performance ever. More bees tomorrow, bee fans.

  5. A great tale.
Recently dramatised for Radio 4, but I missed it despite repeated warnings from a friend.
Also, my neighbour keeps a few hives in one of the fields at back of our house, but he has yet to furnish me with any interesting Apiarist anecdotes.

I apologise for the weak content of this post.

  6. I think that this ep is the sole reason for be wanting to be a bee keeper. Dolly FACT.
